The OpportunityFollowing major project wins and a booming project pipeline, our client, a reputable Australian consultancy are seeking a strategic Flooding Team Lead to lead their water engineering division in Sydney.

The Role - Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and upscale a talented team of civil and water engineers.
- Client Management: Act as the primary point of contact for key clients, managing expectations, delivering project milestones, and nurturing long-term partnerships.
- Technical Direction: Oversee technical delivery for flood analysis, water quality solutions, retention systems, and external service coordination.
- Regulatory Navigation: Lead complex approvals, leveraging a deep understanding of regulatory requirements for Significant State Developments (SSDs).
- Project Oversight: Manage timelines, budgets, and multi-disciplinary coordination on major building and infrastructure developments.
What You Bring - Experience: 8+ years of civil and water engineering experience, with a proven track record leading projects in the Australian market.
- Strong Communication: Demonstrated success in client-facing roles, commercial acumen, and the ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships.
- Technical Expertise: Advanced skills in flood modeling, water sensitive urban design (WSUD), and multi-disciplinary project environments.
- Software knowledge: Whilst you might not be crunching the numbersm a sound knowledge of the softwares is key in this role. Ideally including TUFLOW, DRAINS, MUSIC, 12D, RAFTS, MapInfo, or Navisworks.
- Qualifications: An Australian tertiary engineering qualification (or equivalent). CPEng/NER status is highly desirable.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills required for high-level technical reporting and client presentations.
