We’re working with a well-established, boutique engineering consultancy looking to fill the role of Civil Designer or Junior Civil Engineer. This is a hands-on opportunity to work across a variety of projects in a close-knit and supportive environment, where flexibility and professional development are actively encouraged.
The Role
You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality design and documentation work for a range of projects, including stormwater, traffic, earthworks, roadworks, and civil infrastructure. While you’ll be exposed to all phases of the project lifecycle, the initial focus for the first 6–8 months will be on documentation and presentation, so confidence in this area is essential.
You’ll be working closely with engineers and coordinating with other disciplines to support the successful delivery of complex, multidisciplinary projects.
Key Responsibilities - Prepare civil documentation and detailed drawings in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, as per engineer instructions
- Contribute to design analysis, tender and construction documentation
- Work with plans including stormwater, sediment and erosion control, road furniture, line marking & signage
- Develop surfaces (existing/design), corridors, feature lines, bulk earthworks, cross-sections, and stormwater models
- Coordinate with external consultants (structural, architectural, landscaping, services, builders, etc.)
- Support site-based tasks, including signage surveys and client meetings as required
- Manage markups, detailing, scheduling, and reporting
- Use platforms such as Oracle Aconex and Autodesk Construction Cloud/BIM360 for project collaboration and documentation management
What We’re Looking For - Experience as a Civil Designer or Junior Civil Engineer, with strong drafting and modelling skills
- Proficient in Civil 3D and AutoCAD
- Comfortable with producing clear and accurate documentation for construction and tender phases
- Confident communicating and collaborating with engineers, clients, and external consultants
- Well-organised, detail-oriented, and capable of managing tight deadlines
- A good team player
