The Opportunity The Newcastle office is led by a well-connected and highly regarded Principal Civil Engineer who has already secured major residential and mixed-use developments across the region.
They are now seeking an experienced
Civil Design Engineer (Civil 3D or 12d) to step into a true
2IC position—someone confident delivering projects end-to-end, providing technical input at a high level, and helping shape the future of the Newcastle team.
Working closely with the Civil Leader, you will play a key role in:
- Delivering large-scale subdivision and urban development projects
- Providing technical leadership and design oversight
- Mentoring and supporting junior engineers and designers
- Contributing to team growth, capability development, and local strategy
This is more than a design role, it’s a chance to influence how a new office evolves, with genuine long-term progression as the team expands.
What You’ll Be Doing - End-to-end delivery of civil design for subdivisions and urban development projects
- Bulk earthworks design, lot grading, and road geometry
- Stormwater design including OSD, drainage networks, and overland flow paths
- Sewer and water servicing coordination
- Production of detailed, high-quality construction documentation
- Liaison with clients, councils, and service authorities
- Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to team development

About You - Proficient in Civil 3D or 12d
- Strong background in urban development, subdivisions, and road design
- Confident delivering projects from concept through to construction
- Comfortable mentoring junior team members
- Strong communicator with a collaborative approach
