The Opportunity

The Newcastle office is led by a highly regarded and well-connected Principal Civil Engineer who has already secured major residential and mixed-use developments across the region.

They’re now looking for an experienced Civil Design Engineer (Civil 3D or 12D) to step into a genuine 2IC role - someone confident running projects from concept through to delivery and ready to help grow the team.

You’ll work closely with the Civil Leader, playing a key role in:

• Delivering large-scale subdivision and urban development projects
• Providing technical leadership and design oversight
• Mentoring junior engineers and designers
• Contributing to strategy and helping expand the Newcastle presence

This is more than just a design role, it’s an opportunity to influence the direction of a growing office with no ceiling on progression.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Delivering detailed civil design across subdivisions and urban projects
• Designing bulk earthworks, lot grading, and road geometry
• Stormwater design including OSD, drainage networks, and overland flow paths
• Coordinating sewer and water servicing layouts
• Producing high-quality construction documentation
• Managing client relationships and authority liaison
• Supporting and mentoring junior team members

• Proficient in Civil 3D or 12D
• Strong experience in urban development, subdivisions and roads
• Confident managing projects end-to-end
• Comfortable mentoring and guiding junior staff
• Strong communicator with a collaborative mindset
• Motivated to help grow a team and regional presence
